National teams are the highest level of competition at L2, requiring the greatest commitment of time, training, and travel. These teams compete in high-level events, including multiple 2–3-day tournaments and out-of-state competitions. We aim to field 2–3 National teams per age group, depending on the number of athletes who meet the required skill level.

Training
National teams train a minimum of 4 hours per week. Athletes also receive position-specific training during regular practices and at designated weekend sessions.

Tournament Schedule
These teams follow a demanding travel schedule, including at least one USAV Qualifier and several out-of-state tournaments. Teams will be placed in divisions appropriate to their skill level. Schedules are tentative and subject to change.

Season Duration
The season begins in early December and may run through early July, depending on qualification for USAV Nationals.

Uniform Package
All teams wear Ren Athletics uniforms. Ren is the current uniform provider for the first American professional league the Pro Volleyball Federation and is at the cutting edge of custom volleyball apparel.  This package is billed separately from club tuition.

College Recruiting Support
Athletes receive full access to Recruiting Coordinator Eric Lindstrom, who brings 17 years of college coaching and 26+ years of recruiting experience. Players may schedule free 30-minute sessions to build their recruiting plan and explore opportunities. National players also receive free access to Sports Recruits and HUDL.

Team Cost:

Regional teams offer a high level of competition and are ideal for players with at least 1–2 years of club experience. These teams balance a competitive environment with a slightly lower travel and time commitment than National teams. We aim to form 2–3 Regional teams per age group based on tryout talent and travel availability. Players on Regional teams are expected to attend all practices and tournaments, as consistency and commitment are important to both individual and team development.

Training
Regional teams train a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Tournament Schedule
Teams primarily compete within Michigan, with the potential for 1–2 out-of-state tournaments (typically in Ohio, Indiana, or Illinois). All teams are placed in divisions suited to their competitive level. Schedules are tentative and may change.

Season Duration
The season runs from mid-December through early June.

College Recruiting Support
Athletes will have access to Recruiting Coordinator Eric Lindstrom, who brings 16 years of college coaching experience and 26+ years in club-level recruiting support. Players can schedule free sessions to create a plan, research schools, and connect with coaches. All Regional athletes receive complimentary access to Sports Recruits.

State teams are ideal for athletes newer to club volleyball or transitioning from recreational programs. These teams provide competitive training and gameplay while maintaining more moderate travel and time commitments. We expect to form 2–3 State teams per age group based on the talent and availability of tryout participants. Players on State teams are expected to attend all practices and tournaments, as attendance and consistency are important parts of both player and team development.

Training
State teams train a minimum of 4 hours per week. Additional training sessions to be announced in January.

Tournament Schedule
Teams will compete in in-state events, with a schedule including several one-day and a few two-day tournaments. No out-of-state travel is planned.

Season Duration
The season begins in early February and ends in early June.

College Recruiting Support
While most State-level athletes are still developing, those interested in pursuing college volleyball will also have access to Recruiting Coordinator Eric Lindstrom and the Sports Recruits platform.

Check in: Players may arrive up to 1 hour prior to their tryout, no earlier.
Tryout Process: Players will arrive at tryouts, check in, receive a t-shirt and will be placed into warmup groups based upon arrival time. Once groups are stretched out, they will be ran through testing with our Sports Performance staff.

After all players have been tested, they will be ran through a ball control partner warm up and then will be separated by positions (13 and under players will go through all positions).

Once in positions, players will be individually evaluated within their position first and then positions will combine before we move to game play.

Each position and group have their own evaluators who are breaking down all skills pertaining to their specific positions.

Players who register for National team tryouts but are not placed and choose to also tryout for our Regional and State teams will be subject to a $25 re-evaluation fee. They’re required to wear the tryout shirt they received at the national tryout.

Offer and Commitment Process: We will begin offering players immediately after tryouts, but have to work through positions, teams, etc. Typically it takes 3-5 days for all our offers to be handed out and we ask that you give us 1 week to work through this whole process This is a fluid process and we ask for your patience during this time.

Players will have 24 hours to accept their position, pay their deposit and sign their L2 contract.

What position do I select?

If your player is 13U and above, they will be asked what position they want to be evaluated in. Players will start off tryouts with their specific position and be evaluated with other players of the same position.

Age Definitions for the 2027 club season:

18 and Under Division (Seniors): Players who were born on or after July 1, 2008 or players who were born on or after July 1, 2007 and are a high school student during some part of the current academic year.

17 and Under Division (Juniors):

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2009

16 and Under Division (Sophomores):

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2010

15 and Under Division (Freshmen):

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2011

14 and Under Division (8th Grade):

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2012

13 and Under Division (7th Grade):

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2013

12 and Under Division (6th Grade):

Players who were born on or after July 1, 2014

Payments, Refunds & Credits

Following payment of a deposit to secure your player’s spot on their team, the remainder of your tuition will be due and payable to Legacy Center Sports Complex, in equal installments, according to the schedule generated by the payment system at the time of deposit.

DEPOSIT: A player/family must pay a deposit to reserve a roster spot on a team at Legacy Center Sports Complex. Once a player/family has paid their deposit, signed their contract and reserved their roster spot on a team, the player/family has agreed to and is responsible to pay their full season tuition. The deposit and all additional tuition payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.

LATE PAYMENTS: If any payments are late or in default, the player will not be allowed to attend any practices or tournaments until payments are up to date. The player/family will be held liable for any costs associated with the collection of unpaid fees.

INJURY/ILLNESS/POLICY VIOLATIONS: If a player is unable to participate during the season due to injury, illness, violation of Legacy Center Sports Complex policies or relocation, it is up to the director’s discretion if the player/family is still responsible to pay their full season tuition.

LEAVING THE TEAM: If a player decides to end her participation with Legacy Center Sports Complex at any point in the season, the player/family is still responsible to pay their full season tuition. The deposit and additional tuition are non-refundable

CREDITS/REFUNDS: Any decision to offer a credit towards Legacy Center Sports Complex training opportunities to players who suffer a season-ending injury or medical condition is at the sole discretion of Legacy Center Sports Complex.

Per the Legacy Center Sports Complex Financial Terms, our standards have been presented at the beginning of each season and posted on our website.

A 3% fee will be added to all payments made by credit card.
